Bally recommended for Nevada iGaming licence

Thursday 7th June 2012

Online and land-based casino games and solutions firm Bally Technologies Incorporated has become the first company to receive a recommendation from the Nevada Gaming Control Board for an interactive gaming supplier licence.
A developer of slot, video machine, casino management and server-based solutions for the global gaming industry, Bally stated that Nevada recently became the first state in the United States to adopt a statute allowing interactive gaming and this activity’s associated regulations.
“This is a historic day for Bally Technologies, for Nevada and for the gaming industry,” said Richard Haddrill, Chief Executive Officer for Bally.
“We are very grateful for the Board’s recommendation and are excited about being the first company recommended by a US state for licensing to offer online gaming products and services.
“We are proud to achieve yet another milestone in our 80-year history and look forward to further supporting our Nevada casino customers with our technology in this exciting arena.”
Las Vegas-based Bally revealed that the Nevada Gaming Control Board unanimously recommended its application to act as an interactive gaming system manufacturer and service provider. The firm declared that this will enable it to provide ‘business-to-business iGaming solutions for the state’s casino operators including wager-based online poker’.
The recommendation from the Nevada Gaming Control Board is now scheduled to be reviewed by the Nevada Gaming Commission during a meeting on June 21 where a final decision will be made. If approved, Bally will be authorised to provide its iGaming platform technology and content to casino operators wanting to offer online gaming services.
“Bally’s iGaming platform’s open architecture enables operators to choose from best-of-breed content from a multitude of providers,” read a statement from Bally.
“The iGaming platform is also designed for mobile integration and is ready to accommodate online wagering beyond poker such as casino table games, video slots, bingo and sportsbetting when authorised.”
